I’m baaaaaaaaaack

Yes, believe it or not, I’m finally back from the depths of the “I just moved so my life is a shambles” swamp. I’ve been reading quite a bit, though not anything that I promised I would (I brought a bunch of my old Stephen King novels back to Maryland from my parents’ house at the beginning of July, so I’ve been rereading those) but I haven’t been writing at all until about yesterday. Oops. I’m going to blame it on crazy work things, but also quite a bit on general laziness and “OMG it’s 105 degrees out it’s too hot to do ANYTHING even despite air conditioning”ness.

Anyway. It feels really good to be back and it was nice to see that my blog hadn’t slid into complete oblivion while I was gone. I forgot how much I really do enjoy writing when I can actually get myself to do it. 🙂 I’m also going to try to revamp a few things here…for example, WWW Wednesdays don’t seem to work that well for me (I never predict correctly what I’m actually going to read the next week, and too often I’m still reading the same thing) but I’ll continue to do Top Ten Tuesdays and Sunday Morning Funnies. Reviews are going to change ever so slightly, because about twice a month or so I’ll be posting reviews on The Broke and The Bookish, and in order not to completely duplicate content I’ll be posting previews here with links to TBTB. Not entirely sure yet how exactly that’s going to work, but I’ll figure it out 🙂

In the meantime, enjoy some bookish pictures from moving week/month:

My collection of Stephen King books. When I stood up it came about to my hip, probably. I’m not that tall but it’s still a lot of books.

My adorable boyfriend, surrounded by all of our books. This does not include his massive pile of dental school textbooks that are taller than our windowsill, nor does it include all of the books that we both still have stashed away at our parents’ houses.

Our fiction bookshelf. Obviously incomplete since we only have Harry Potter 4-7 in our apartment, but it’s the best we can do for now.

The rest of our fiction books plus non-fiction, plus Andrew’s shot glass collection and random dental memorabilia type things. Also, apologies for the crappy lighting on this one.

And finally…

Andrew’s insane stack of dental school textbooks. This one comes up to about the bottom of my ribcage.

  1. I agree 105 is entirely way to hot to do anything unless you’re in a pool or in the AC not moving! Why do you think I moved north 😀

Love the pictures! And that is an incredibly daunting pile of textbooks.

    • I know–on one hand, I can’t wait to go back to MA eventually (hopefully) but on the other hand I don’t really like winter so…I’m conflicted. Anyplace that’s 75 and sunny all the time, if such a place exists, is where I would want to be.

Thanks! We’re actually looking to get another bookshelf for our office just for the textbooks, since they take up so much room otherwise…
