Wednesday, 6/8/16: 4.26-Mile Run (43:08)

I actually felt pretty good today. Aside, of course, from the fact that I never *actually* want to get out of bed, it wasn’t quite as hard to get up as I anticipated—especially considering that I went to bed at 11 and set the alarm for 6.

Something that I’m starting to struggle with is my route. I keep having to add on things as I go further (obviously) but why do all the things I add seem to involve hills at the most inopportune times?? Unfortunately there just aren’t a lot of options—our neighborhood is small and directly off a main road. I’m already running along it pretty regularly (and it gives me a big problem running back home because that direction is uphill) and the other neighborhoods off it also aren’t very large…I might need to start doing laps.

Today’s Goal: Week 9, Day 3 of 10K Trainer (Run 10 min, walk 1 min, repeat 4x)

Distance: 4.26

Time: 43’08” (I fumbled a little bit after starting my Fitbit timer, so the 10K app and Fitbit app weren’t quite as synced as I would have liked.)

Average Pace: 10’07”

Best Mile: 9’32” (mile 1)

Worst Mile: 10’37” (mile 4)

Weather: BEAUTIFUL. 63 and sunny with a bit of a breeze. Perfect running weather.

How I felt pre-run: Surprisingly okay, considering my alarm went off at 6am.

How I feel post-run: I actually don’t feel like I’m going to pass out for once! It does suck that it’s warmer inside than outside, though.

Run Breakdown:
30% Enjoying the weather
45% Monitoring my pace on Fitbit (seriously, I couldn’t stop watching it today)
18% Trying to decide on the best (i.e. least hilly) route
7% Sprinting downhill (see that last quarter mile? Yeah, that)
